NewTek, Inc. today announced the release of the fourth edition of NewTek's Texture Collection. This new set includes fifty high-resolution textures available for free download at NewTek.com, and brings the total number of free textures available from NewTek to 200. The first three editions of the texture collection have been overwhelmingly popular, with tens of thousands of downloads since they were originally posted. NewTek plans to release additional sets of high-resolution textures from time to time and participants can sign up for notification of the release of new sets.

"This collection offers just exactly the kind of detailed, high-quality high resolution textures that are key to creating great digital content," said Christopher Short, freelance illustrator whose clients include Newsweek, The Discovery Channel, and many other major publishers and corporations. "NewTek's textures are a terrific resource for digital artists, and a great example of the commitment NewTek shows to the user community, with great production tools at affordable prices and incredible free content."

The fourth edition of the texture collection includes images in the categories Wood, Metal, Sky, Nature, and Stone. All textures are unretouched photographic images at 1600 pixels x 1200 pixels resolution. The textures are provided in JPEG format, for efficient download.
