Panasonic Introduces 14'' LCD Broadcast Monitor

Panasonic has announced the expansion of its broadcast-grade flat panel display product line with the immediate availability of the BT-LS1400 14" 4:3 aspect ratio LCD Monitor.
At about one-third the weight and twice the expected life span, the BT-LS1400 is a suitable upgrade from a standard CRT display, meeting professional video monitoring needs with the advantages of an LCD monitor -- compact size, lightweight and a thin, space-saving profile.
Additional benefits the BT-LS1400 offers over CRT monitoring include: consistent color performance under varying ambient lighting conditions, no performance degradation by magnetic fields generated by speakers or other monitors, virtually no burn-in and less electricity consumption, which means that significantly less air conditioning is required when multiple monitors are in use. With all these benefits, the BT-LS1400 is especially suited for use in desktop video editing and in mobile production vehicles.
Offering a high brightness of 450 cd/mē, a high contrast of 400:1 and a wide viewing angel of 160 degrees horizontally and vertically, the BT-LS1400 is also equipped with a complete set of production-oriented display controls (over/under scan, blue channel only, and more.). Encased in a rugged metal cabinet, the BT-LS1400 provides a fast video response rate of 16msec, assuring super-sharp moving images with no after-images or color shift. Professional inputs/outputs offered on the BT-LS1400 include: two composite, two S-Video, one Y/Pb/Pr component and one audio (an optional Serial Digital Input is available.). The unit is AC-powered with a low power consumption of 40 watts.
Other key features include: broadcast specification video performance; support of 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratio viewing; D65 and D93 color temperatures; SMPTE Color Bar Generator; built-in stereo speakers; Tally light and a GPI terminal for remote control.
It weighs 10.1 pounds and its dimensions are 14" W x 12-1/8" H x 2-13/16" D. The monitor comes with a stand and it can be VESA-compliant mounted.
Pricing and Availability
The BT-LS1400 is available at a suggested list price (SLP) of $1,395.00. Accessories available include the BT-MA1400G SDI input module (SLP: $795) and BT-YA210G rack mount ($155).
